Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I have put my trust in you (Psalm 143:8).
Trust precedes love; we can only truly ever love someone that we trust. The psalmist links being reminded of God’s love in the morning as they have put their trust in God. What a great way to start the day, being reminded of God’s love. Reminders of His love may be unique and personal as His children spend time with Him.
I love mornings. It is my best time of day, early to bed, early to rise. Each of us has our body clock rhythm, and mine is the morning. If you are not a morning person, God’s love for you is constant regardless of the time, day or night. However, I experience God’s love for me in His creation when my husband and I sometimes visit a weekender on the most beautiful property on the South Coast of NSW, Australia. It truly is breathtaking countryside and coastline. On an early morning walk, we can see whales, seals, octopuses, fish, and stingrays from standing on observation decks or wharves. Then turn off the highway and we are immersed in the country, lush and green rolling hills. Experiencing the diversity of creation is a treat and is a reminder of God’s love for us.
The best part is waking up each morning on this property is soaking in the sunshine as it streams through our bedroom window. It is a reminder to look to the SON. To keep our eyes fixed on Jesus!
How do you experience God’s love? Like the Psalmist, do you hear of God’s love for you in the morning? Or do you prefer another time of day?
Each morning could be a declaration of putting your trust in Him. Because God loves you, take the time each morning to remember that a trustworthy one loves you. Circumstances may be uncertain, challenging, or painful, yet we can be assured of God’s unfailing love and choose to put our trust in Him. The relationship between trust and love is close; it provides security and a sense of knowing that God (whom Christians trust) will be loyal to us, even if significant others in our lives are not.
Consider each morning soaking in His love and choosing to trust.
Blessing,
Leisa
