It only takes a moment — one breath, one whispered “yes” — to open the door of your heart and let God in. Have you ever held back from letting God into a painful place in your heart? Most of us have. We knock on His door, but we hesitate to let Him through ours. The good news is simple. It only takes a moment to change that. One whispered yes is all it takes.
It only takes a moment to open the door
and let His light pour in.
It only takes a moment to say,
“Yes, Lord — I know You win.”
It only takes a moment to surrender
the dry places deep within.
to let God fully come in.
Why did it take so long to trust You?
My hurt and pain had blocked You once again.
It seemed easier to keep knocking,
to follow Your lead to streams and pastures
that were lush and green.
But was it finally time to open my heart —
to those places deep within?
So when You knocked and said,
“Let me see these places deep within,”
it was not too hard to whisper,
“Oh Lord — please come in.”
There was no judgment, only gentleness,
as You sought a space to comfort me in.
Tender words and a reassuring grin
brought a deep and settled peace within.
Jesus breathed His life into what was dry and parched.
Slowly, what had died within
began to live again.
all because I trusted Him and took
one moment and opened the door,
invited Him in, allowing His light to come in.
One moment is enough
God does not force His way in. Instead, He knocks gently and waits. When we finally open the door, He comes without judgment. In fact, He comes with kindness and a peace that settles deep within us.
So what is the door you have been hesitant to open? Perhaps it is a hurt you have carried for years. Or maybe it is a disappointment that left you guarded. Either way, you do not need to have it all together first. Because God meets us exactly where we are.
Therefore, take a moment today. Simply breathe and invite Him in. As a result, that single moment of surrender can become the beginning of something new, watch and see what He will do Finally, know this — it only takes a moment, and He has been waiting patiently for yours. “Jesus described this beautifully in John 10:10 — He came so that we might have life to the full.”
Until next time Leisa

So lovely and encouraging. Thank you.
This is so beautiful! Thank you for writing and sharing. I leave your place encouraged.
Refreshing, hope-filled encouragement! It takes just a moment, one invitation. I took that moment a few nights ago and a shooting star crosses my path!
it only takes a moment…but sometimes those moments are longer in coming than needful. fmf15
Yes so true and we never know when they present so we need to be ready for them ❤️
Lord, don’t want to break Your bubble,
and I hope this makes You smile.
I know fersure that You’ve got trouble,
so come on in and rest awhile.
I’ve got mates and they’ll bring guns,
and there’s a savage dog or two,
so, Dude God, whatever comes,
we will be protecting You,
and You can kick back with a beer
(hang it all, just drink the case!)
and You need not have no fear
’bout protection in this place,
’cause You should know that we are driven
by the blessings You have given.
Our lives are made up of moments. thank you for taking a moment to uplift us and remind us that it is all about Jesus.
Thank you for being able to share many moments with you.
And so many moments with you ❤️
