Why explore a relationship with God?
Pascal, the famous mathematician and philosopher, wrote in the 1600s
There is a God-shaped vacuum in each man’s heart, which cannot be satisfied by any created thing but only by God the Creator, made known through Jesus Christ.
The idea of a “God-shaped hole” in the human heart, a terrifying bottomless abyss opening up inside us that we would do anything to fill, is a famous modern metaphor for the yearning in the human soul that drives us to explore even search out the things of God says a commentator of Pascals works.
C.S. Lewis quote in Mere Christianity:
If I find in myself a desire that no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.
For some, it is searching for meaning that draws them to connect with a creator God and invites Him to dwell in them. Or perhaps that connection already exists, and there is a deeper yearning for more of the things of God.
Exploring our relationship with God, or lack, therefore, is beneficial and ultimately is what deepens our relationship with Heavenly Father. If you yearn for more or feel there is a vacuum in your soul, why not explore and see what God has in store. Embarking on such a quest is transformative as it truly allows you to connect with God so you can draw close to Him and He will be close to you. God becomes part of your everyday life as His amazing love will transform your life.
Matthew 6:33 says
But seek first his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you.

We can fill this hole with stuff or relationships, but only God truly satisfies, so exploring a relationship with Him is essential for those who yearn for more of His love and grace.
Until next time, Leisa
