When it comes to people there are two kinds. One has vision and the other prefers to follow vision, enabling the ideas. Both people play a role in fulfilling vision. I have always been on the visionary side. For example, recently, we bought a house for my son, who lives with a disability. It is an authentic renovator’s delight, so much so that it is unliveable.

Justins new home… we have vision!

Before he moves in, the place needs to be reconstructed. When my husband and I saw the property, despite the amount of work needed, we both had a vision for what it could be. We imagined what it would be like when all the renovators were complete. We saw at least one other person who lives with disabilities living there, a support workers room, and a granny flat for Ian and me to stay in or rent out at the back of the house. The convenient location enabling Justin to walk to everything he needs for daily living, overcoming the barriers of not being able to drive at this stage of his life. We had a vision for this property and what its future could hold!

Habakkuk 2:2 says to write down the vision. Being a passionate journalist, that is what I did before we purchased the property. It felt natural–writing down a vision statement for this place. It was helpful to enable the plan and purposes for all our lives, Justin, Ian, and I.

Vision is the act or power of imagination, a supernatural appearance that reveals what the future can be.

The vision still awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.

Though our context is different from Habakkuk’s, there are principles we can glean from Habakkuk’s experience. In our context of purchasing a property for Justin, the appointed time had come. A vision sown in Justin’s heart years before to become a Pastor, and having a property was part of its fulfillment. You can read about it in my book hope wins https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09BTBPN5C. The appointed time came this year, to our amazement. I will share how this vision is being outworked in my next book Hope Overcomes.

Be encouraged, write down your vision, hold onto it, and never let go. God’s appointed time will come.

Until next time Leisa
