Peace be still You are with me
In this hope, I abide
Jesus be my sustainer
Strengthen me in this trial

This song, only for a moment by elevation music https://youtu.be/1_JBRECGhtM is a reminder that we can have peace in a trial. This week, on Facebook, there was a post of Ukrainian Christians praying outdoors, in the snow, for their country in this phase of war danger. May God’s peace be released over them.

John 16:33

“I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

The peace Jesus talks about surpasses understanding because even when situations are diabolical, like in Ukraine, inner peace that comes from God can strengthen and sustain. When my mum was living her final months with aggressive cancer, she used to say to me, ‘don’t worry, then pat her heart and say ‘I have such peace.’ Mum slept even though she felt very sad about missing out on the next season of life with us; mum was not afraid to die. She knew her eternal destiny was safe and secure in Christ.

Living from a posture of peace as a Christian is saying, God, I trust you, I will not give in to the fears and worries my life circumstances surround me with. It is choosing to surrender them to Jesus and let Him fight for you. He is our safe place and ultimately the one who gives us such perfect peace.

Until next time Leisa
