I have had a passion for writing for many years. I have always kept a journal. My high school friend, who was passionate about journaling, gave me a blue diary with a little gold lock and key for one of my birthdays, and that’s when I began writing to express my feelings. That first journal filled up pretty quickly, and I soon moved on to writing in exercise books as I recorded my daily life events in great detail. As I grappled with the different twists and turns in my life circumstances, I found journaling to be quite therapeutic, enabling me to process my thoughts and feelings, and it became a lifelong habit!

English author Edward Bulwer-Lytton said in 1839, “The pen is mightier than the sword,” and German reformer Martin Luther said, “If you want to change the world, pick up your pen and write.” So, that is what I have done! I do not know that my writing will change the world, but I believe that I have some stories, lessons, musings, and daily life experiences that will hopefully be of some encouragement to you, my followers. Much of what I write will come from my Christian life journey, which is based on God’s Word, the Bible. I make no apologies for that, and I cannot separate my journey from my faith and how important knowing Christ as my Lord and Saviour is in my life.

My intent is to be real, honest, and raw in these blogs in the hope that your curiosity will be aroused to the point that you will read my first book, Hope Wins – Overcoming Feelings of Hopelessness in Special Needs Families. As I share my story, I pray something in it will resonate with you and touch or perhaps even change your life. If my story touches just one reader, then I am grateful to God. The years of perseverance for hope to win in our family will have been worth it!

May I ask you to consider who you might share this blog with today so they too can learn more about how hope can win in their lives. As I move towards launch month July 2021, sign up to keep informed and please leave your feedback, thoughts and comments.

Until next time,
Leisa
