Hide your location

Ever got that feeling that you need to hide?

King David in the Bible did as he was running from Saul; he fled to a cave to hide with his family. David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. When his brothers and his father’s household heard about it, they went down to him there. 1 Samuel 22:1.

It can be good to hide, especially if you suspect being followed online. To stay secure is essential. David had no choice but to hide as his life was in danger. Your circumstances may not be as extreme as David’s, but perhaps you can identify with wanting or needing to hide. If that is the case, ask yourself, what do I hide from? Is it?

– The past
– The truth
– People
– Your real self
– Or do you hide your feelings and emotions

Notice that when David hid, his family joined him. There were significant others in his life that came into his place of refuge. If you need to hide for whatever reason, don’t do it alone. Invite at least one other person into your safe place. Why? Because we are not made to be alone or live in isolation. I don’t know what makes you want to or need to hide, but I do know that God loves and cares for you and is with you when you hide. God will also help you face whatever you are hiding from, like eventually, David had to face his enemies with God. As the song ‘You are my hiding Place says, we can trust in Him.’
